Today Anne turns 60. She’s having a show at her gallery of 60 paintings she did in the months preceding her birthday. The paintings are all of birds, and the show is called “Bird’s Eye View.” I imagined being a bird traveling the sixty years of my life, she says of the paintings.

She wanted to have a book printed of the 60 paintings – so for her birthday I designed it for her. Blurb printed it. They did a fantastic job!

Walking

IMG_2027.jpeg

One thing I DON’T like about biking is that I don’t take photos. I can’t stand to stop riding! It was much too windy to ride this evening, so I walked instead. And stopped every few steps to take photos.

Haircut House Call

Our favorite hair stylist, Jordan, CAME TO OUR HOUSE today and cut our hair by the window. No color this time and no blow-dry. It had been nine months since I’d seen her.

For Sarah's Storytime

I had so much fun putting this together for the Daly City Library!

Hail

This afternoon I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to get out on my bike. It didn’t look like rain. But once I left Alameda Park, 6 miles north of here, there was THUNDER! LIGHTENING! And the rain started coming down. Then it started HAILING! I couldn’t believe it. I rode through the hail for a mile before I came to the tunnel under Paseo del Norte, and hung out there for 20 minutes listening to NPR. The rain and hail gradually stopped and I made it home, giddy with excitement.

Monsoon Season

It’s monsoon season. We have hot sunny days – and then around 4:30 it starts getting cloudy and the rains come. At 7:00, it clears up again.
