I Ventured Forth Today
I'm all well. I went to Safeway, Walgreen's, and the gallery. It was a wonderful experience – I even found Walgreen's enchanting. The cat is a detail from a painting I saw this afternoon by Jimmy McCullough.

About that Cover...
I just received this email from my art director: So we just got out of our cover meeting where we shared your darling color sketch, and while the room did agree it is darling, they also felt it read too young for a chapter book—they thought it felt picture-book’y. BLAST! ....
But doesn't it look great? Lauren added the type and the spine and stuff. Stay tuned, we'll be starting on another one soon. And just in case you ever get the wrong impression, it's not easy being me.

The Real Book
I got my advance copy today. Not proofs, not F&G's – the real thing. I love the way it turned out. The book will be released February 28, 2017. My favorite spread is below:
I was so happy. We had drinks and snacks with friends. But Oops. BAD eating, Linda! Some advice: Think before ordering that second or third martini. Also, when you order a big bowl of fried calamari and a cheese plate for the table, don't scarf down the whole bowl of calamari while everyone else is admiring the view.
When my super-agent Rubin got his advance copy, he sent me this photo. Isn't it beautiful?
